
If you enjoy wildlife then just sit back on the porch of
your cabin and watch the many bird species that visit your
feeder. And don't forget to stay up late and watch the
raccoons as they dine on sunflower seeds at the feeder.
Watch the skies for the Bald eagles that call Beaver Lake
their home in the winter months!
When
its time get out and explore the area you will find that
Eureka Springs is a total vacation place. Close by are golf
courses, music shows, shopping for baskets, hand-made
pottery, souvenirs, arts and crafts, hand-blown glass and
lots of galleries to browse through.
Beaver lake is at our doorstep offering a 28,000 acre water
playground. There is a public access boat ramp just 1 mile
from Sugar Ridge. If you prefer to rent watercraft it's a
short drive across the dam to Starkey Marina. If you would
enjoy a afternoon swimming or sunning the Dam site park
offers many choices of places to swim and even offers picnic
sites. Maybe you would like to explore the park land around
the lake or White river just below the dam. There are nice
trails that lead around the lake and through beautiful
bluffs and they are just 2 miles from Sugar Ridge.
If fishing is you style than you will several options close
to the resort. Beaver lake offers great fishing for black
bass, walleye and world class striped bass. Fish from shore
or hire a guide to ensure a successful outing. Try your luck
trout fishing on the White river just 1.5 miles from Sugar
Ridge. There is good fishing for rainbow and brown trout all
along the 6 miles that stretch from beaver dam to Houseman
Access. There are 3 shore fishing areas below the dam
including one Trophy catch and release area! Recently a man
caught a 64 ½ lb. striped bass below the dam!!! Beaver lake
is also popular with scuba divers who prize the clean,
crystal-clear waters. You might also want to take a
excursion on the Belle of the Ozarks which features
sightseeing cruises along scenic Beaver Lake.

Sugar Ridge Resort rests on a 20
acre mountain top overlooking Beaver Lake and adjoining
Damsite Park. Damsite Park is a 1700 acre public use area
providing boat ramps, picnic tables and hiking trails. The
boat ramp is one mile from our resort, so bring your boat.
If you enjoy trout fishing, the White River is 1.5 miles
away and offers three public access shore fishing areas,
including one trophy catch and release area. Fishing guide
services are available for striped bass, white bass, trout
and walleye. Watercraft rentals are available at a local
marina just minutes away. Weddings services are available for a sweet and simple
wedding in your cabin, beside the fireplace or on the deck
overlooking Beaver Lake. |
